Slow Speeds - Fibre - Testing to the ONT

Now that we have eliminated WiFi from being a problem, we next want to isolate your router.

Your computer should still be connected to the router, however we want to plug it into your fibre box.

  1. Plug a single ethernet cable directly from your device (e.g. laptop/ PC) into the first LAN port on your Fibre Box. This should be attached to the wall.
  2. Make sure your router is no longer connected to either your device, or the Fibre Box and you are able to connect to a web page.
  3. It may take a few minutes to connect to the internet.
  4. Once connected, rerun the speed test to see if this has resolved the issue.
